About

Geri Schear is an award-winning novelist and short story writer. She was born in Dublin, Ireland but has lived in several countries around the world.

Her short stories have appeared in a number of literary journals and Sherlock Holmes anthologies, but she is best known for her series of novels featuring Holmes and Lady Beatrice. These weave canonical stories with historical events together with new, unifying tales. They are written in the form of diary entries by Holmes himself. This places the detective in the real world and reveals a character that is both recognisable and yet more human than we have seen before. The series enjoys an international readership, and has been translated into Italian. They also enjoy great reviews, with one reader saying, One reviewer said, “This is the most authentic-feeling work I have read. Doyle himself would be pleased with this.” (Charlie Deckard). There are currently three novels in the series: A Biased Judgement; Sherlock Holmes and the Other Woman; and Return to Reichenbach. A fourth, Brave Warrior, will be released in May 2024.
